Do you like nature? Insects? Bees more specifically? Do you want to learn about their way of life, their role in the ecosystem, our role in protecting them? How to take care of a hive and bees in a gentle way? Come and discover it near Paris!

This course will allow you to have a first experience in the field of beekeeping, to apprehend thereafter in amateur its own hives with solid bases of knowledge.

day 1: Morning: Welcome

Presentation of a colony in a glass hive

History of the hive and the bee with the help of educational material

An empty hive and its elements: know how to name them.

In the afternoon: Beekeepers' clothing and tools, lighting the smoker.

Spinning frames: knowing how to prepare them.

From the honey frame to the jar, how?

2nd day: Morning: Beekeeping in the city, regulations, rural code and particularities.

Health and hygiene of the hive

Anatomy of the bee

Flora and possible resources in the city and in Ile de France.

Afternoon: Departure to the educational apiary (400m.).

Equipment of the trainees

Opening of hives and comments in situ.

Return to the base and delivery of information sheets on bees, hives and beekeeping (addresses of suppliers, beekeeping structures and entomologists).
