The 3 Salazes - With a high mountain guide Activity

The 3 Salazes, these are the three small points which will not escape your attention if you are on the side of Mafate or Cilaos. Facing the sky, these three "piles" (in Malagasy) are located at 2132 m, on the ridge linking the Grand Bénare to the Gros Morne.

This ridge crossing to the 3 Salazes is the must-do alpine hike in Réunion Island. Its unique panorama on both the Mafate and Cilaos cirques, and the activities proposed during this day will allow you to surpass yourself in complete safety: climbing, abseiling, walking on the ridge, and tyrolean traverse between two Salazes... A full and exciting day out!

It is also possible to continue the adventure after the 3 Salazes and to continue on the ridge towards the Tête du chien (near the Taibit pass). The Intégral des 3 Salazes is a more aerial route that will allow the most experienced to surpass themselves.

3 Salazes "classic

Accessible from 14 years old

Duration: about 10 hours, 1100 m ascent, 11 kms AR.

Equipment required: headlamp, rucksack (minimum 20 litres), trainers or hiking boots in good condition, trousers and T-shirt, warm jacket, gloves and hat (especially in winter), rain jacket, sunglasses, sun cream, water (2l mini), small snacks and sandwiches.

Equipment provided: helmet, harness ... Photos and videos offered.

Prices:

From 5 to 6 pers. 95€/pers.

More than 6 pers. 90€/pers.

Outing assured as soon as the group is made up of 6 people in total (maximum 8 people).

No climbing experience is required. However, a good physical condition is necessary as well as a non sickly fear of the void which could block you (the apprehension of the void is logical).

3 Salazes "integral

A more athletic route possible from 16 years old.

Duration: about 11 hours, 1250 m ascent, 11 kms.

Equipment required: headlamp, rucksack (minimum 20 litres), trainers or hiking boots in good condition, trousers and T-shirt, warm jacket, gloves and hat (especially in winter), rain jacket, sunglasses, sun cream, water (2l mini), small snacks and sandwiches.

Equipment provided: helmet, harness ... Photos and videos offered.

Price: 150€/pers.

Outing assured as soon as the group of 4 people is constituted.

Experience in climbing is preferable. However, a very good physical condition is necessary as well as no fear of heights.
