La Dame de Canton, now moored to the quays of the Seine after sailing the seas and oceans, invites you on a voyage of discovery. To hear the music, have a drink, lunch or dinner. A favourite venue for concerts that has already welcomed artists from near and far, its tapas bar and restaurant are an invitation to the high seas with their drinks and mixed dishes. It's a motionless but inspiring journey. On the terrace when the weather's fine, or inside when it's cooler, you'll immediately feel like you're on board - a change of scenery guaranteed.

THE DECK

For your dinners for 30 people or standing cocktail parties for 150, the 140 m2 open-plan teak dining area has a stage area, seating for the public, a fully equipped bar with a licence IV... and an uninterrupted view over the Seine!

In this space you can play your own music, dance (dance floor, lights, disco ball and sound system + stage) and have a standing meal.

A security guard and/or cloakroom attendant can be provided.

THE CAPTAIN'S LOUNGE

The heart of the boat is equipped with a table seating 18 (or 25 people standing), a plasma screen, a magnificent library of 500 books, travel items and a piano. It welcomes groups for breakfast, lunch and seated dinner, as well as standing buffets.

THE RESTAURANT'S HOLD

Its wooded atmosphere encourages conviviality and a complete change of scenery. Equipped with plasma screens so you can follow the shows on stage, this space is ideal for seated dinners for up to 35 people, cocktail parties, tastings, etc.

RESTAURATION

Breakfast and brunch menus. Lunch, seated dinner. The restaurant's cuisine is inventive with its different flavours, spices and subtle sweet and savoury combinations. Cocktail lunch or dinner, buffet.

A little history

at the end of the 1970s, two young Frenchmen took on the crazy challenge of having an authentic traditional Chinese junk built in the Canton shipyard.

This last Chinese junk was built according to 17th century plans. 25 metres long, 7 metres wide, weighing 80 tonnes and comprising : 7 species of exotic wood, tiller, frames and planking pegged and nailed in the old-fashioned way, three-mast rigging with 250m² of bamboo battened sails, are the characteristics of this unusual boat.

This junk, christened 'La Dame de Canton', left its home port for several years of sailing. (She was the first junk to round the Cape of Good Hope, and sailed around the world one and a half times.

In 1981, as a floating press agency, it carried out a number of events... In 1995, after having sailed for ten years to discover different countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, it became the "Dame of Canton".countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States, in all some forty countries, the Dame de Canton moored in the heart of Paris on the Left Bank to open its doors to the public as a multicultural venue. The junk took the name of "Guinguette Pirate" and became a cultural and multidisciplinary crossroads for artists from all over the world. Many of France's best-known artists have graced its stage, including : Higelin, Louise Attaque, la Grande Sophie, Bénabar, Noir Désir, Thomas Dutronc, Mademoiselle K, Nosfell, Rona Hartner, Tété, Sanseverino, Angelo Debarre, Jim Murple Mémorial More recently : Eddy de Pretto (2015), singer Sapho, Emily Bécaud, Patrick Coutin, Didier Sustrac, Joseph Chedid, Jil Caplan, Renaud Hantson (Starmania)

International artists: (US) Michale Graves (Misfits), Barry "The Fish" Melton (woodstock 69), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake and Dead Daisy), Fabienne Shine (Shakin'street), (UK) David Ford, (AF) Terakaft...who later reverted to his original name ofthe venue would later revert to its original name of "LA DAME DE CANTON" and open up to privatisation, allowing it to be used by companies or private individuals for unique, personalised events.
