Pilates is based on breathing, posture, strengthening the deep abdominal muscles and improving the mobility and stability of the body's joints.
The aim is to work the deep muscles, make the joints more flexible and adopt good postures. The course is carried out through several series of exercises interspersed with breaks, breaks that do not exist in yoga where the postures follow each other in a dynamic way.
These pauses allow us to take stock of the posture and to readjust it if necessary. The correct positioning of the pelvis and the spine is indeed at the heart of this practice. These breaks also allow us to check that it is indeed the deep muscles that are working.
Pilates therefore allows for greater flexibility and body awareness, and reduces muscular tension.
