- The Paris Assassin (Secrets and criminal enigmas)

Take a walk in another murderous district of the capital. A commercial district since the 12th century due to the establishment of the market desired by the king, this district was not only the economic lung of the city.

Some famous places of execution, such as the pillory and the Châtelet, which have now disappeared, and a few steps away, the Place de Grève, which recalls the memory of infamous justice, bear witness to this.

Known for hosting the largest market in the capital, which Emile Zola called "the Belly of Paris", it is also the world of hiring and debauchery where banditry and the crime syndicate are organised.

Next to it, the cemetery of the Innocents, an astonishing place of rendezvous and mystery which until 1780 welcomed Parisians to their final resting place.

During a 2-hour walk, you will be presented with some of the major events that marked Paris from 1914 to 1918.

Far from the fighting and the nightmarish scenes on the front line, "the front", this visit allows us to evoke "the back". The life of the Parisians and the poilus, in transit, wounded, on leave during these four years of chaos.

The places visited lead to the narration of certain subjects of the Great War such as the taxis of the Marne, the arrest of Mata Hari, the choice of the unknown soldier, the bombardments, the work and leisure of the Parisians...
