Forest survival course - Bordeaux

Description

A survival course in the heart of nature, close to Bordeaux, in an imposing 1000-hectare natural setting.

Over a weekend in the great outdoors, come and learn all the techniques you need to survive, such as building a shelter, making drinking water, recognising animal tracks...

Course duration: 2 days, including 1 bivouac.

Location: 1 Av. de la Lagune du Merle, 33114 Saucats (45 minutes from Bordeaux!)

Meeting point: Saturday morning at 9.30am.

Up to 10 people maximum!

dAY 1

9.30am: Welcome and briefing. Checking of equipment and bags.

10.15 am: Start of the hike and immersion in nature - Gathering - Collecting - Observation of the environment, fauna, flora, topography - Spotting - Finding water...

3.00 pm: Arrival at the bivouac site - Introduction to techniques for obtaining a flame without a lighter or match and awareness of fire risks and reminder of the regulations in force. - Preparation and construction of shelters - Preparation of the meal using only the day's harvest - Introduction to the main trapping techniques and reminder of the law on trapping and hunting...

20:00: Meal made up of the day's harvest and impressions of the day. Night hike.

23:00: Sleep in the shelters

dAY 2

8.00am: Wake up - Trap survey - Breakfast - Impression of the night - Introduction to first aid and transporting an injured person.

12:00: Departure - Dismantling the shelters - Cleaning up the bivouac area - Raising awareness of respect for the environment - Orienteering walk - Map reading - Sun orientation, topography, compass

14:00: Return to the starting point - Recount of the past 2 days - Consideration of feedback

Deepening of certain points.

17:00: End of course

This course is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

Equipment required for the course

- a rucksack

- a sleeping bag

- hiking gear (walking shoes, trousers, fleece)

- a spare pair of socks

- rain gear

- a pair of gloves and a hat

- water bottle or plastic water bottle

- canteen, metal spoon and glass

- headlamp

- a pair of sunglasses

- hat

- knife

- rubbish bag

- a tarpaulin to cover you in case of rain

- camera, Gopro allowed

- telephones without SIM cards authorised
