A Team Building (or workshop for children) based on dubbing. Learn how to give life to characters from films, cartoons and manga.

The dubbing initiation workshop is a fun and creative activity that allows children and adults to discover the secrets of dubbing films, cartoons and series. Participants learn how to synchronise their voices with the images, adapt dialogue, imitate characters and create sound effects. They practise reading, diction, expression and listening. They develop their imagination, self-confidence and artistic sensibility.

PROCEDURE

The workshop takes place in 2 stages:

1) Theatre exercise: Explain to participants the role of an actor: to convey emotions.

-> Theatre exercise on managing emotions, getting into character, understanding the situation to be played out.

2) Dubbing :

- Introduction to dubbing: participants find out what dubbing is, why it exists, how it is done, and what jobs are involved in dubbing.

- Choice of extracts: the participants choose together the extracts from films, cartoons or series that they are going to dub.

- Preparing the dialogue: the participants prepare the dialogue they are going to say based on the chosen extracts. They can either use the original dialogue or adapt it. They must take care to respect the meaning, tone and length of the dialogues.

- Voice recording: the participants take it in turns to record their voices on a microphone. They must try to match the characters' lip movements, changes in shot and emotions as closely as possible. They are guided by a professional actress who gives them tips and instructions.

- Souvenir: After the course, the actress will send participants videos of their exploits.

SET-UP AND SPEAKERS

The workshop lasts approximately 2 hours and takes place in a room equipped with a screen, speakers and a microphone.

The workshop is led by a professional actress who guides the participants throughout.

The workshop can accommodate up to 15 participants per group. It is suitable for children aged 9 and over and adults of all ages, whatever their level or knowledge of dubbing. The workshop is a unique opportunity for participants to have fun while discovering the magical world of dubbing!
