Traditional wood-fired cooking workshop Group activity

Description

Come and (re)discover traditional Reunionese cuisine in a friendly atmosphere.

Workshop from breakfast to lunch.

With friends or family, come and experience a typical Reunionese day by taking part in a traditional cooking workshop at our home in the Abondance district on the Takamaka road in Saint-Benoît.

The day will start with an old-fashioned breakfast in which you will be offered a "Riz sofé ek saucisse pété" and a "Ti café grillé maison".

After having gained strength, we will move on to the making of curries, rougails and a Pei cake for dessert. All of this is based on local products cooked over a wood fire.

"Gouni vide i tien pas deboute", time for the aperitif! Samoussas, chilli sweets, corks and home-made arranged rums are on the menu. Then come the dishes served in "la Vane" (banana leaves) as the local tradition wants.

We will finish this day around 15:00 by tasting our dessert with a "ti Yapana".

From 8.30 am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
