A day of responsible and committed workshops. Focusing on recycling, biodiversity, the environment and the planet.
With a lunch on site based on the same values.

What is La Raffinerie?

The association La Raffinerie is a third place created and run by a collective of citizens since 2019. Its aim is to help build a future in which everyone on Reunion Island actively contributes to a balanced and sustainable society. A space for experimentation and a desire to operate differently, its hybrid and collective organisation values all human involvement. Its activities are designed to create a positive dynamic between people from different backgrounds, with interaction and action based on the founding principle of "working together". A veritable ecosystem of activities, La Raffinerie is clearing the way for tomorrow's world through experimentation, resilience and cooperation.

TYPE OF DAY => Example of an event for 60 people

The 60 people are divided into 6 groups of 10.
6 times of 40 minutes are proposed including :

- 4 Refinery workshops

- 1 red thread activity (workshop, treasure hunt, riddle game, etc. To be defined)

- 1 game/relaxation time

The 6 groups go through each workshop, 3 morning workshops between 10am and 12pm, and 3 afternoon workshops between 2pm and 4pm. The workshops last 30 minutes (10 minutes are set aside for rotation between each workshop).

08:00 - 9:30: welcome of participants with buffet breakfast
09:30 : Presentation of workshops
10.00am : 1st session of workshops
10.00am - 12.00pm: lunch
14:00 - 16:00: 2nd workshop session
16:00 - 17:00: debriefing and speaking points

DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKSHOPS

Workshop 1: Tibanc

Everyone makes their own little bench from recycled pallet wood (sanding and screwing). Decorate the bench with stencils

Workshop 2: Creative leisure and creation of a collective fresco

Creation of a collective fresco using stencils on the theme of plants endemic to Reunion Island (stencils using water-based spray paint)

Workshop 3: Making tawashi

Everyone makes their own ecological sponge from recycled t-shirts (braided using a mini loom).

Workshop 4: Wicking bed

Creation of a wicking bed in the form of a challenge involving two teams of 5. As each group passes through, the wicking beds take shape and are operational by the end of the day (the wicking beds remain the property of the Refinery)

Workshop 5: Games/relaxation

Games available: lontan, darts, shuffleboard, molkky, etc.

Catering

Breakfast: fresh fruit buffet, home-made delicacies, tea/coffee

Lunch : sweet, savoury, vegan and meat buffet

General information:

- We propose a fairly long breakfast time, from 8:00 to 9:30, to allow everyone to get to know each other and the opportunity to speak collectively if necessary (on stage).

- Participants will leave with their creations (tibanc and tawashi) as well as their collective fresco.

- A team of organisers will help to ensure that the day runs smoothly, rotating through the workshops and leading the relaxation/games workshop.

- Each workshop will be led by a person trained and qualified in the subject of the workshop.
